Autodesk University Sessions

Elevating Roadways: Autodesk's Solutions for Climate-Resilient Infrastructure

Tuesday, October 15th | 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM

Register for Session

Civil infrastructure projects are critical assets characterized by their extensive lifespans, costs, and impacts. So, how can we ensure these projects fully achieve their main purpose of holistically benefiting local communities?

This session will explore how a unified Autodesk environment can streamline the design of roadway projects while adhering to sustainability guidelines. We'll demonstrate a typical workflow connecting Civil 3D software and InfoWorks ICM, focusing on the integration of these tools and using as case study a roadway project at risk from sea-level rise. Envision Framework and UN Sustainability Goals provisions will be used to validate results, ensuring that picked approaches are innovative and grounded in recognized guidelines.

Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how Autodesk solutions can empower users to make more-informed decisions in their own projects, making sure sustainable practices are being adopted at every stage of a project’s lifecycle.

Salute to Service: Why Veterans Are a Perfect Fit for Every Industry

Wednesday, October 16th | 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Register for Session

"Project deadlines don't seem stressful if you’ve survived bullet fire and bombs exploding around you." This, straight from a military veteran. With U.S Air Force veteran Michelle Rasmussen as the co-host, join us for an emotional and inspiring panel discussion on the enthralling journey of being a veteran.

This session will bring together a group of panelists from different branches of the military, each with a compelling story of overcoming adversity and how they transitioned into their industry.

Grab-and-go lunches will be available – please bring your lunch to our session.

A Beginners Guide to Fusion Manufacturing

Tuesday, October 16th | 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM

Register for Session

This session will cover the fundamental Autodesk Fusion workflows necessary for using the Fusion Manufacturing Workspace.

Pre-learning will include searching for Fusion Post Processors and Machine Simulation Files on the HSM Posts Landing page to help users obtain the correct tools needed to generate their required NC code for machining components.

  • Explore Modelling for Manufacture workflows, briefly covering the Design Workspace, but focusing on Manufacturing Models and their manipulation.
  • Learn about basic machining strategies within Autodesk Fusion, available in the Base version of the software.

This session aims to provide attendees, particularly new and exploratory users, with a basic understanding of the Autodesk Fusion Manufacturing Workspace and the qualifications required to use it as their future CAM solution.

Seamless BIM-to-Fabrication-to-Field MEP Workflows: It's Not Just a Dream

Thursday, October 17th | 9:00AM - 10:00AM

Register for Session

Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) subcontractors are critical stakeholders in the AECMO built environment. We face a combination of cost pressures, skills and materials scarcity, and a journey toward digitalization. While the convergence of construction and manufacturing challenges us with new ways of working—including industrialized construction, building product componentization, and informed design—our building information modeling (BIM)-to-fabrication workflows must adapt. New Revit integrations and cloud-based fabrication workflows on a common data environment (CDE) for outcomes of connected construction and sustainability are critical.

This panel of MEP contractors and experts will discuss insights of transformational BIM-to-fabrication-to-field workflows. The panel will show how streamlined workflows enable factory automation, data matrix tracking, and innovative remote machine operation using AR/VR technology.
Learn how to make this your reality, not just a dream.

Autodesk Inventor Frame Generator: Multifram Design Setup Made Easy

Thursday, October 17th | 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Register for Session

When creating frame-generated structures using Inventor software, the need to have multiple subframes assembled in a top-level assembly is a common practice—but it’s not always easy to build, especially when design changes might happen throughout any given project.

In this session, users will learn quick ways of generating fully associative reference files needed to generate multiple subassemblies for use with Frame Generator, where frame positioning can be driven from a top-level assembly and frame design requirements driven from a given subassembly. This advanced workflow helps users understand the importance of high-level associativity between parts and assemblies, discovering how they can drive component change with ease, while reducing the need for rework, should design changes be required to meet location, frame size, and associative component size requirements throughout the design process.
