Digital Design Transformation from 2D to 3D to Collaboration to Coordination on ACC | Bookmark this session.

Wednesday, Sep 17th | 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM CDT

Thursday, Sep 18 | 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM CDT

Dzan Ta, Autodesk Technical Specialist, Symetri

In this lab, you will learn how to use AutoCAD, Revit and Autodesk Docs to build an ACC Cloud based Revit model utilizing your 2D AutoCAD file stored on Autodesk Docs. It will then go in to how to collaborate your Revit model with other stakeholder models (MEP/Structure).
Learning Objectives
  • Lead your organization's design process with AutoCAD, Revit, and ACC while setting up an ACC project for this workflow.
  • Create/store files on ACC while managing your design project with Autodesk Docs in a common data environment.
  • Create a 3D Revit model from a 2D AutoCAD file. Then, Link your Revit model with other discipline models for coordination.
  • Collaborate the design with shared views in Revit/AutoCAD/ACC to connect your workflows, data, and teams using ACC.

Inventor: Frame Generator—Multiframe Design Setup Made Easy | Bookmark this session.

Tuesday, Sep 16th | 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM CDT

James Lodge, Applications Consultant, Symetri

In this class, you’ll discover multiple routes for generating Frame Generator Reference Files. And you’ll see how they can be integrated into top-level assemblies efficiently—where information from reference files can also be used to drive downstream design tasks where associativity between components and assemblies are important and change may occur throughout the design lifecycle. The class will also touch on new and updated workflows where model states and simplification tools can be used to manage assemblies and generate associative BIM-ready models, required by different or cross-industry design teams. This hands-on session is aimed toward the intermediate Inventor user. But it was developed for users who want to explore the Inventor Professional Frame Generator accelerator and its capabilities with high levels of associativity and parametric potential.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to create a top level assembly and reference master exploring bodies, sketches, and surfaces driven by named user parameters.
  • Learn how to create in-place subassemblies and derived reference parts, exploring associativity with the top level reference.
  • Learn about applying the Frame Generator workflow in place to subassemblies and manage with Model States and BOM overview.
  • Learn about the new BIM Content Enhancements, Simplify Substitute, and Export Building Components workflows.
