Forma Data Management (previously Autodesk Docs), part of the Autodesk Forma unified platform, is a cloud-based common data environment designed to simplify collaboration and data management across the project lifecycle for all project teams. It allows you to organize, distribute, and share all project documents and data, from design through to construction in a single platform. Forma Data Management is also available as part of Forma for Model Management, Forma for Construction Operations and Forma for Preconstruction bundles.
Forma Data Management Essentials gives AutoCAD, Revit and Civil 3D users an easy way to get started with organising, reviewing, and sharing project files in a secure cloud environment. It includes the core features most teams need—such as file and folder access, 2D/3D viewing, markups, issue tracking, permissions, and controlled sharing—making it ideal for early-stage collaboration or smaller projects. Essentials focuses on foundational capabilities, so it does not include advanced workflows, automated reporting and insights, API integrations, or mobile access. Those extended functions are available in the full Forma Data Management offering for teams that need deeper automation or wider integration options.
